Bookbinding workshops

Bookbinding is a craft, but also an art that requires skill and creativity. We, with great pleasure, will introduce you to this world and reveal its secrets to you.

During the workshop, you will learn how to create your own notebooks from loose sheets of paper in two different techniques: booklet and Japanese.  You’ll learn the history and importance of these bindings, as well as what tools and materials are needed to make them. For a while, we will go all the way back to the 12th century!

At the workshop, you will gain practical skills such as:

  • knowledge of the stages of book construction
  • determining the direction of paper grain
  • selecting paperweight
  • cutting paper with a guillotine
  • using a bookbinding bone and prickler

In addition, we will show you the equipment of the bookbinding workshop, such as the sewing station and gilding press, and explain the basic vocabulary of bookbinding, such as folding and creasing, or folio and signature.

All this in the friendly and magical atmosphere of our workshop, with a cup of coffee or tea.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn something new and create your own unique notebooks!
