Linocut Workshop

Join us for a workshop on creating Christmas cards using the linocut technique. This is an opportunity to create a unique gift for our loved ones and at the same time an opportunity to acquire new skills.

During the workshop, you will relax in a Christmas atmosphere and learn the linocut technique, a relief printing technique. Linocut is derived from woodcut, one of the oldest printing techniques. The base of our work will be a piece of linoleum, which you may associate mainly with the floors of the 90’s. Linocut is a technique that offers many possibilities for work and the final results obtained. The basic principle is very simple. Everything we cut from the linoleum tile will remain white. And I will tell you the rest in the workshop.

A collection of inspiration for creating a unique Christmas card will be waiting for you on the spot, but if you have your own ideas, bring them with you!

At the workshop, you will learn:

how to use a chisel
how to create a graphic matrix,
what is the right sound of paint ?
how to set up a graphic press
how to create a print

Beyond that, I will explain some magical terms like matrix or print, as well as tell you about different types of chisels.

And all this with a cup of coffee and tea in a relaxed atmosphere in the magical space of Misprint.

Hi, this is Magda! I am a graduate of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, majoring in Art Mediation and Graphic Design. I am an artist, graphic designer, and cultural animator.
I create mainly in the linocut technique, which is a relief printing technique. I am inspired by human beings, their stories and emotions, textures and traces that we can find in the nature around us.

Linocut appeared in my life in 2010 and has stayed permanently. Since then, I have experimented with different methods of creating a matrix, different ways of cutting, as well as with printing itself.

She was awarded a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2020, from the Mayor of Wroclaw in 2019, and a three-time scholarship from the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. Her works have been repeatedly presented at international competitions and biennials around the world, including Armenia, Romania, the USA, and Argentina.
