Brass and lead movable type come in use when we want to personalize the covers of our notebooks and photo albums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To personalize our creations to your specific needs, we have acquired a wide range of different typefaces and ornamental decorations, called printing type, to be used with our gold foiling machine. But what is the printing type?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

printing type is made up of individual pieces, each carrying a single letter or other character, so that the pieces can be freely assembled or reassembled for printing any desired combination or line<\/p>\nMerriam-Webster.com Dictionary<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

To personalize the cover of your order, we hand-set the type, lock it up, and place it in the machine. Using heat and pressure, the design is then transferred onto the cover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Typeface Collection<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A large portion of our type originates from the Font Foundry of Warsaw (Odlewnia Czcionek w Warszawie). We were able to recover a copy of the catalog, and from this publication, we managed to identify the names of the typefaces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
